1. Purpose
This AI Use & Data Policy explains how BeautyNavigator uses artificial intelligence and automated technologies, and how third parties may not use BeautyNavigator content, data, listings, taxonomies, and platform materials for artificial intelligence, machine learning, text and data mining, automated extraction, retrieval systems, or similar technologies without prior written authorization.
This policy supplements our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
2. BeautyNavigator's Use of AI and Automated Processing
BeautyNavigator may utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning systems, APIs, and automated technologies to organize directory information, categorize businesses, detect duplicate records, verify publicly available information, improve search functionality, generate insights and analytics, maintain directory quality, monitor publicly available information for updates, and protect platform security.
Automated processes may be supplemented by human review where appropriate.
3. Automated Access, Scraping, and Data Harvesting
We welcome discovery. We prohibit extraction.
Without the prior written authorization of BeautyNavigator, users may not use any automated means to access, collect, monitor, extract, copy, download, harvest, scrape, index, reproduce, store, or distribute information from the Platform.
Prohibited technologies include web scrapers, crawlers, spiders, bots, automated browsers, headless browsers, browser automation software, robotic process automation, data mining tools, automated query systems, monitoring tools, data extraction software, AI agents, autonomous systems, machine learning agents, and retrieval systems.
Users may not bypass or attempt to bypass any technical measures designed to limit automated access.
4. AI Training, Machine Learning, and Data Mining Restrictions
Unless expressly authorized in writing by BeautyNavigator, no person or entity may use any portion of the Platform for purposes including:
- Training, fine-tuning, benchmarking, evaluating, or improving artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, or large language models.
- Developing generative AI technologies, AI agents, autonomous systems, training datasets, embeddings, vector databases, knowledge graphs, or retrieval-augmented generation systems.
- Building derivative datasets, competing directories, automated enrichment systems, or commercial data products from BeautyNavigator content.
This restriction applies to directory listings, company records, contact information, metadata, search results, industry classifications, editorial content, research content, publications, reports, taxonomies, database structures, compilations, business intelligence data, and related platform materials.
5. Retrieval-Augmented Generation and Agent Use
For the avoidance of doubt, the use of BeautyNavigator content, listings, classifications, metadata, search results, company profiles, contact records, directory structures, taxonomies, database compilations, editorial content, or research materials for retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, knowledge graphs, AI agents, autonomous systems, large language models, machine learning systems, or similar technologies is prohibited without prior written authorization from BeautyNavigator.
6. Machine-Readable Policies
BeautyNavigator may communicate its permissions, restrictions, and reservations through these Terms of Use, Privacy Policies, robots.txt, llms.txt, tdmrep.json, agent manifests, API policies, technical controls, and future machine-readable governance standards.
Any such technical, machine-readable, or policy-based restrictions shall supplement and reinforce this policy and the Terms of Use. No license, consent, authorization, or waiver shall be implied from the public accessibility of the Platform.
7. Enforcement
Unauthorized automated access, scraping, extraction, AI training, data mining, or misuse of BeautyNavigator content may result in immediate access restrictions, IP blocking, account suspension, permanent bans, legal action, claims for damages, recovery of investigative costs, injunctive relief, and other remedies available under the Terms of Use and applicable law.
8. Reservation of Rights
BeautyNavigator expressly reserves all rights relating to artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated processing, text and data mining, future AI technologies, database rights, compilation rights, copyright rights, contractual rights, and intellectual property rights.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by BeautyNavigator.
